According to the statistics in the USA, scoliosis affects over 4 million patients. This is a condition where there is a prominent curvature in the spine.
Scoliosis can be caused by a bone abnormality at birth, because of the injury, but the science is unable to determine the exact reason of the disease in various cases.
The doctors recommend a standard treatment by using a spinal-correcting brace, which usually depends on the age of the person affected or surgery. However, many studies have shown one vital way how to heal this condition, this is by exercising.
Here is an example how one 86 year old woman took her health into her own hands and extraordinarily cured her curved spine.
The back condition of Anna Pesce, which was present for a long time worsen and at the age of eighty-six, it confined her to a wheelchair. In 2014 her back was in misery, and she suffered through the vacation instead of enjoying the company of her loved ones because she had to be carried up the stairs and put into a wheelchair.
However, Pesce refuses to accept her painful condition as destiny and tried everything that can be used for this purpose, such as acupuncture, seeing a chiropractor and a physical therapist. Sometimes things had gotten better, but she’d be in pain again soon after.
In order to alleviate her mother’s suffering, Anna Pesce’s daughter introduced her to Rachel Jesian, a certified yoga instructor and back specialist. Then the hard work of two of them began on stretches and restorative poses. That work for Pesce was enjoyable and worthy because, after one month, she was able to walk again. After two months Anna knew what poses to do when the usual pains would appear.
Her instructor Rachel had discovered back-restoration yoga when she was challenged with scoliosis and she was suggested to wear a back brace for five years and went to physical therapy every week, which didn’t help that much. The only thing that worked was yoga.
When both of them started this journey, miracles followed, because Pesce had started feeling wonderful and doing the things that she wasn’t able to do before.
Her experience gave her opportunity to recommend this method to other people who suffer from scoliosis.
Here is a list of the benefits of Yoga:
- Coronary heart disease
- Diabetes type 2
- Weak muscles
- Heart disease
According to the Anna Pesce’s story to that list can be added curing scoliosis.
