Make Your Own Natural Insect Repellent With This Simple Recipe

Do you find bugs annoying or disgusting? Do they intimidate you? If the answer is yes, then read on. Today is the day we will share a recipe to create a homemade insect repellent.

Unlike most commercially available repellents, ours will not harm your health or the health of your pets. It doesn’t contain any dangerous chemicals and is completely safe for your home. It is crazy efficient and will eliminate all the pesky bugs that wander around the dark corners of your room.

In order to make this natural homemade insect repellent, you will have to obtain some ingredients used in the making of various fabric softeners, laundry detergents or tile scrubs.

The list of ingredients includes:

  • 10 drops of Lavender
  • 10-12 drops of Citronella
  • 10-12 drops of Lemongrass
  • 10-12 drops of Eucalyptus
  • 1-15 oz. bottle of witch hazel

Preparation method:

Grab two smaller bottles and divide the witch hazel. You can use one for the inside of your home and the other one for the outside. Leave roughly half an inch of room at the top of the bottles.

Add the remaining ingredients one by one. Once you finish, close the bottles and shake well in order to mix all the ingredients. It is recommended to shake the bottles again before every use.

That’s it! Your insect repellent is ready and it smells wonderful! Spraying it around the house will get rid of all those boring bugs, including mosquitos.

Because of the wonderful smell, you will feel like you are using an air freshener and not an insect repellent. All the other commercially available repellents have some unpleasant aroma that most people find sickening. Another great thing about our homemade repellent is that it is not sticky. You can spray it on you if you like and it will never feel itchy or irritating.

It is chemical free and won’t harm your skin or the environment. Feel free to try it and once you do, you will recommend it to your friends and family. We are sure of it!
